Kirsten Dunst in Rodarte

I love Rodarte, and I quite like Kirsten Dunst. I think this dress is absolutely beautiful and she wears it so well!

I love that the zipper is concealed for once, I’ve been getting tired of the exposed zipper trend that seems to be taking forever to fade out.

(On a completely random side note, I just watched All Good Things and Kristen Wiig’s character’s style is amazing. It’s the kind of 70’s style that I love, working on screencaps.)

NYFW: Rodarte Fall 2010 RTW

A rose by any other name…..still does not make me a fan.

Okay now Rodarte is one of my faves and I always look forward to seeing what the Mulleavy sisters have come up with but…..I’m not the biggest fan of florals. There are roses thrown all over their Fall 2010 RTW collection and I’m having the hardest time saying I don’t like florals because I’m such a Rodarte fangirl. But I must…I HATE FLORAL PATTERNS.

Oh that hurt.

But that is (thankfully) not all the collection had to offer. It was inspired by their Mexican roots, and that shows in the fringed, draped, and layered pieces. It’s also quite….white….for Rodarte. Am I right? There are dark hints throughout the collection instead of the other way around. We’d usually catch a glint of silver, or a streak of white. Now it’s nearly blinding. I’m not complaining, it’s quite bold for Fall. I like bold.

The eagle seems kind of Native American inspired….no?

Do you know what else I like? The gorgeous Nicholas Kirkwood shoes.

*guh*

The makeup was also quite fabulous. Pale faces, shiny smokey eyes, slicked back hair, and nude lips were keeping with the beauty trends seen all over Fashion Week.

See? The roses didn’t ruin it for me after all…

Runway Trend: Temporary Tattoos

The most unlikely of trends has popped up on several Fashion Week runways: tattoos. It started at Rodarte, with their futuristic tribal sleeves, half sleeves and neck tattoos.

At Chanel, there were pretty black and white tattoos that looked like jewelry.

There was more of a “prison tat” feel going at Jean Paul Gaultier. The models names were stenciled on various parts of their body.

Could this trend take off? Will temporary tattoos start popping up in stores next Spring? I think it’s an interesting new twist, I’d probably try something like tattoos at Chanel. It’s a very pretty, artistic addition to an outfit. So, was this just a runway trend, or will some of us be slapping on temporary tattoo sleeves in the near future?

Hello Reese!

I’ve read mixed thoughts on how Reese Witherspoon looked at the premiere of Monsters Vs. Aliens. Some people thought her outfit was great, and others didn’t like it so much. I happen to love it. I am enthralled by this Rodarte dress from their Fall ’09 collection. I love the mixture of fabrics and how it all kind of looks like it has been thrown together, but at the same time it doesn’t. The bright splash of green easily keeps this dress from being boring. Reese’s Balenciaga heels wouldn’t have been my first choice to go with the outfit, as they don’t exactly match. At times, mis-matching is what makes an outfit. In this case, these dark grey and yellow shoes help complete her fantastic outfit. I also like that she kept her makeup, hair, and accessories simple.
